The Canadian Public is going HD

After months of testing, we’ve come to a single, undeniable conclusion.

Standard Definition is an ugly, dying beast.

As of today, the channel will concentrate on launching a 720p HD television service. This format will allow us to maintain compatibility with existing ATSC standards as well as reduce bandwidth demands on our broadcast partners. The license amendment application will be sent to the CRTC this week.

Standard definition feeds will remain available, but we don’t recommend them.
